How long will a deliquent payment stay on my credit report?

I have one 30 day late payment on my credit report from 2001. How long will it stay on my report.|||It is dependent upon what state you reside in. Go to http://www.creditinfocenter.com/rebuild/... to look up your state.





However, since your debt is at least 5 years old, the impact it is having your your credit score is much less than say if it were 5 months old. As time goes by, it affects it less and less. So, even if the 30 day late pmt falls your report off completely you may not see a dramatic increase in your score.|||It will show on your credit report for as long as the account is open but unless it was for a mortgage or car payment most banks won%26#039;t hold it against you after 7 years. One late payment should not effect your credit that much unless it was for one of those 2 things. Banks usually consider credit scores 700 and up as excellent credit. If you where a co-signer you might be able to send in a letter of explanation for the late payment. But if it was back in 2001 you shouldn%26#039;t have that may issues.... unless it went to collections.|||If the account is still open it will stay on it as long as the account is active. if the account is closed it will stay on there for 7 years.|||7 years from the last date that the company reports it. Not 7 years from the date it was first put on your report.
