Can a paid tax lien be removed from my credit report?

Ok, I am guessing not but I read a few anwsers to a question the same as mine and they were saying it would be removed when paid. I am in Minnesota. Should have a great credit score but this paid tax lien is really holding us down on our credit report. Any help would be great. It was paid this year.|||Your ability to have a tax lien removed is slim. The fact you paid it will help some. The older that account gets the less it will affect your score. The aging process is the key . You need to get new credit even if its a secured credit card. The new credit will age the tax lien and time will take its course. The process of playing with the irs is not usually a good one. The dispute process might work for a few months but it will get relisted. Get a score moniter if you dispute and when the score goes up (short period) buy what you need. Good Luck|||Yes it can be removed, but it will not just fall off, and I would try to dispute it within the next year of so. By then since it is inactive, and paid, they may put it in the archives, or just get rid of it. So, then I wold try and dispute it.
